PreK Library Lions will be reading and discussing my favorite children's book Where the Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. We will also talk about Making Mischief and identify all words beginning with the M sound.
In Kindergarten, our Lions will be talking FAIRY TALES! We all love fairy tales. This week we will explore the classic version of Goldilocks and the Three Bears followed by Goldilocks and the Three Dinosaurs by Mo Willems. We all know when one of Mo Willems' characters is involved, there is likely to be mischief so we may need to be on the lookout for some mischievous dinosaurs roaming GES.
Second graders will also explore fairy tales this week. We will be reading The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by Jon Scieszka. Who was wronged in the story - the pigs or the wolf? We will explore point of view to find out.
"Don't count your chickens before they hatch."
"Do not calculate your feathered domesticated animals previous to the time they emerge from their place of origin."
Lions in the 4th grade will continue to rewrite common proverbs using reference materials, the dictionary and thesaurus.
