In observation of President’s Day, Mrs. Sprinkle (Librarian) and Mrs. Fugate (Guidance), coordinated lessons researching information about our presidents and discussing good character traits. The culminating activity for the lesson was all classes having the opportunity to make George Washington Cherry Pies from graham crackers, cherry pie filling and cool whip while discussing the story of George Washington and the cherry tree. The story was discussed from the viewpoint of displaying good character traits followed by the historical discussion of myth versus fact.
